Career Choices

I've gone to a lot of career expos, but they've never effected me before. They've just been an opportunity to get free stuff. But the expo on Friday actually affected me.
I always wanted to have a career having to do with law. I wanted to be a legal secretary up to Friday. At the expo I met a lady from a law office. She talked about legal secretaries, lawyers, and, something I had never thought about, private investigating. I had never even considered it before, but I found that it really interests me. I changed my mind completely, and now want to be a private investigator. I think it's a fascinating career. I believe I'll enjoy this career much more than I would have liked being a legal secretary.

Spurlock's 30 Days

In the episode done by Spurlock about minimum wage he proves that it's next to impossible to live a decent life on minimum wage. He and his fiancee struggle to get by. They had to go to the hospital a couple times and couldn't pay off the ridiculous fees charged by the emergency rooms. They had a hard enough time getting by before the hospital bills.
When they took Spurlock's brother's kids they spent a lot. I think they spent more than was necessary on the kids but it would be much harder for a person living on minimum wage who had kids. They would have to pay for diapers, food, entertainment, and someone to watch the kids while they work.
They had to constantly work and didn't get time off without worrying about getting money or not spending money on anything that wasn't completely necessary. They showed people a glimpse at how hard those living on minimum wage's lives are.
